We operate a nonprofit waterfowl rescue called The Duck Sanctuary, and every year, we rescue hundreds of ducks that have been abandoned after being sold by Tractor Supply Co. This is not just our story; it's a widespread issue affecting animal welfare across the country.

Tractor Supply Co., a large retail chain in the United States, has been selling live animals such as ducks and chicks as impulse buys without providing adequate information on their care to customers. As a result, many of these animals end up neglected or abandoned when buyers realize they cannot provide for them properly. 

According to the Humane Society, millions of chicks and ducklings are sold each year in feed stores like Tractor Supply Co., with many ending up in shelters or rescues due to abandonment. This practice not only causes unnecessary suffering for these animals but also places an undue burden on animal rescues and sanctuaries like The Duck Sanctuary.

We urge Tractor Supply Co. to STOP selling live animals without proper education for potential owners about their care requirements. By doing so, they can help reduce animal neglect and abandonment rates significantly.
