Stop the Sale of Halal Easter Eggs in Supermarkets

Stop the Sale of Halal Easter Eggs in Supermarkets
The Issue
As a concerned citizen, I am deeply troubled by the recent decisions made by Sainsbury's and ASDA. These popular supermarkets have chosen not to stock a Christian Easter egg that tells the story of Jesus and his resurrection. This decision has left many Christians, including myself, feeling marginalized and ignored. Stephen Green from Christian Voice aptly said, “You are whitewashing the Christian message out of Christian holidays." It is indeed challenging to find any explicitly Christian products like Christmas cards in supermarkets today.
It is important to note that people of other faiths or none at all are not offended by Christian products. Muslims do not celebrate Easter; hence it seems unnecessary for these eggs to be halal certified. The choice to make these eggs halal appears more like an attempt at political correctness rather than a genuine effort towards inclusivity.
We respect all religions and their practices but believe it is essential for our traditions also to be respected and represented accurately in public spaces such as supermarkets. We urge Sainsbury's and ASDA along with other supermarket chains across the country to reconsider their decision on this matter.
Please sign this petition if you agree that our traditions should be respected just as we respect those of others!
