In Intov Inc, which is an animal testing laboratory in Indiana, thousands of animals, including dogs, primates, pigs, mice and rats are killed every year. Imagine all the cute fluffy cats and kittens and adorable dogs and puppies having acid put on their skin and chemicals forced into their body through tubes in their mouths. Last year, the Inotiv parent company Envigo was sued by the U.S. Department of Justice after its mass breeding facility Virginia was cited for dozens of Animal Welfare Act violations, including failing to document the cause of death for hundreds of puppies, euthanizing dogs without anesthesia and providing inadequate veterinary care and insufficient food. They also live in barren cages and are typically killed when the experiment ends. Eleven states already (California, Hawaii , Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Virginia) have passed laws banning the sale of animal-tested cosmetics. We should take the next best step towards in banning animal tested products by creating a ban in Indiana! Maybe one day we can even ban animal testing in its entirety!
