If Rt. 322, a major federal highway, is allowed to be snaked directly through neighborhoods, it will place all of us in harm’s way. Rerouting this roadway from a mainly commercial area designed to handle larger traffic volumes and weights to a residential area will shift and exacerbate the issue. The link to the proposal is:

This project threatens our safety and quality of life by increasing traffic congestion, noise pollution, and the risk of accidents in our community. It will increase the chances of gridlock during certain times because of the placement of more traffic signals, intersections, and numerous curves that will ultimately increase air pollution from idling vehicles. We urge local, county, state, and federal officials to drop this plan for the well-being of all residents. 

The project is not needed because traffic is only backed up during class changes. There are cheaper ways to fix the problem.
