A 500+ acre Race Track/Road Track/Private Car Club (surrounded by an 8 foot fence/retaining wall, staffed by armed security guards) has been proposed in the River Falls area, specifically east of Highway 65, and north and south of Highway 29 in the town of River Falls (adjacent to the city). 

The Kinnick Development Group proposes to build:

• A 5-mile private road course with private club house & 100+ parking stall area (with unlimited unsolicited noise allowed from dawn until dusk every day of the year with the exception of some time during the winter)
• An outside entertainment area for car shows, swap meets and live entertainment
• A driving course facility & cart track with stands
• 600+ garage-style condo villas
• A 100+ unit RV park
• Multiple restaurants & rooftop bars
• Retail stores & corporate offices

All of which they claim will have numerous benefits to the area but, in fact, will inflict short and long term damage to our local community, its residents and economy. A similar project in Illinois by the same developer has a cost of: $45,000 (initiation/initial fee) and $5,900 in annual dues to a private social membership club.

We, a group of concerned citizens & community members of the River Falls  community and beyond, OPPOSE this project for a long list of adverse effects including but not limited to: Severe Noise and Light pollution, poor use of valued Agricultural land, devastating environmental effects, including irreversible damaging effects on several species of local wildlife along the Kinnickinnic River and precious wetlands on the proposed site and increased traffic and elevated crime - just to name a few. This petition will be presented to the River Falls City Council, the River Falls Township Board, the Pierce County Board of Supervisors and the Wisconsin Dept of Natural Resources.
