Stop the rezoning of Wildcat Bridge Road in Madison County, GA
Stop the rezoning of Wildcat Bridge Road in Madison County, GA
The Issue
The proposed rezoning of the land on Wildcat Bridge Road to build an RV park may at first glance appear to be a good thing for Madison county, but this plot of land is inappropriate for this project. The proposed project site is dangerously close to existing homes, disrupting the right to safe, quiet, and peaceful living. Moreso, this project would threaten the local ecosystem of the Broad River and surrounding areas.
RV parks often come with a heavy toll: land degradation, erosion (especially on sandy soil like this), light and noise pollution, water contamination, improper waste disposal, and a heightened chance of fires igniting in the surrounding forest, especially with increased traffic and crowds packed into such a small area. We cannot allow these risks to threaten our community's safety and natural ecosystem.
The chosen location for this RV park is wrong. We firmly believe that this project would bring far more harm than good to the community, and it's vital that we take a stand to protect our homes and environment from this misguided project.
We implore you to join us and oppose this rezoning effort. Sign this petition to help preserve our community and safeguard the health of the Broad River ecosysten. We need your voice and your support to help steer this project to a more appropriate, responsible location. Let our District 4 representatives on the Zoning and Planning Committee and the Board of Commissioners understand that our community’s health and wellbeing must come first.
