Stop the rezoning of Leesburg Gateway Area

Stop the rezoning of Leesburg Gateway Area
The Issue
As a new homeowner in the Leesburg area, I am deeply concerned for the future of our neighborhood. My husband and I moved here with plans to start our family in a safe, serene, and tightly-knit community. However, the proposed rezoning that would allow for data centers and industrial complexes to invade our residential haven poses a grave threat to the quality of life we anticipated. This heartfelt concern resonates not just with my immediate family but with all residents who cherish the essence of Leesburg/Potomac Station.
The introduction of large industrial structures is poised to negatively affect our property values, compromise the tranquility of our neighborhood, and put unprecedented strain on our local utilities. Our infrastructure is not designed to support such large-scale industrial endeavors, leading to potential blackouts and overburdened resources. As someone who works from home, any interruption in services will have severe repercussions on my ability to perform professionally.
Leesburg thrives on its community spirit and residential charm. Allowing the construction of data centers and industrial complexes would not only mar the landscape but would jeopardize the safety and security that residents, including myself, hold dear. Increased noise, traffic, and air pollution are just a few of the anticipated byproducts that could drastically change our way of life.
This is not a decision to be taken lightly, as the consequences of rezoning our precious area to accommodate such facilities are profound. I urge the Leesburg local authorities and planning committees to reconsider and halt the rezoning plans. Our community's well-being, property value, and natural surroundings hang in the balance.
Please sign this petition to prevent the rezoning of the Leesburg Gateway area and to preserve the integrity and essence of our neighborhood for generations to come. Together, we can protect our homes and ensure a peaceful future for all residents of Potomac Station and the surrounding areas.
