Stop the Rezoning of Dobie Road – Protect Single Family Zoned Areas

The Issue

Meridian Township is considering Ordinance 2025-03, which would rezone 4.28 acres on Dobie Road next to Faith Lutheran Church near Hamilton & Grand River to allow 32 multi-family housing units. This development will increase traffic congestion, strain infrastructure, and alter the character of our neighborhood.

Why This Matters:

🚗 Traffic & Safety Concerns – This area is already heavily congested, especially at Grand River & Hamilton. More housing will lead to longer delays, higher accident risks, and slower emergency response times.

🌿 Environmental & Infrastructure Impact – Increased development will worsen stormwater drainage issues, reduce green space, and put more strain on local roads and utilities.

🏡 Not a Good Fit for Our Community – This area is currently zoned for single-family homes. There are already multiple multi-family housing projects in progress in the township—does this location really need another?

What We’re Asking For:

We urge the Meridian Township Board to reject Ordinance 2025-03 and preserve the integrity of our neighborhood.

✅ Sign this petition to show community opposition.

✅ Share with neighbors, friends, and family.

Our voices matter. Together, we can ensure that development in Meridian Township is thoughtful, responsible, and in the best interest of the community.
