Beyond its ecological contributions, the oak holds a special place in the residents collective memory, standing as a living testament to Ballyraine’s history and natural beauty. Removing it would have detrimental effects on local wildlife and reduce the natural beauty of the area. 

I urge the Council to reconsider this decision and explore alternative solutions that would allow for the preservation of this important natural resource.
