First of all, thank you so much for all of you who signed and shared this petition. I had over 750 signatures so thank you so much!

In the past few weeks I’ve been in contact with two TDs who took the subject into consideration. We were able to reach them and they organised a meeting to talk about it.

One of them was not able to get anywhere but the other one, Máire Devine has put in so much time and effort to help us. Unfortunately they need data and proof that this is affecting people. Here is her message: “I appreciate that this response may not satisfy you regarding the 26 bus route but I encourage you to collect empirical data regarding your experience of the new route and we can determine how to proceed from there.Now that the new 80 route is in place, would you keep some informal records of how long you wait for the new 80 bus and for its secondary connection bus? If you and others are able to show hard evidence that the routes are not operating as efficiently as the 26, we can bring this data to the NTA to be addressed. Please think of this in terms of building a case with hard data over a period of time rather than a case of frustrations.”

I’ll keep this petition open for now and see what else can be done. If we have more people emailing them and giving feedback, that would make things a lot more effective!
