Stop the Relocation of Eurelia's Historical Rail Shed to Farina

The issue

The Farina Restoration Society has submitted a formal request to the Department of Environment and Water to dismantle the iconic Rail Shed located in the town of Eurelia, with the aim of relocating it to Farina.

We support the continued revitalisation of Farina, but not at the loss of Eurelia's own historical infrastructure.

Who we are

The Eurelia Preservation Society has been formed by local stakeholders with a plan to support revitalisation works ahead of the 150 year anniversary of the town in 2026.

Why save the Eurelia Rail Shed?

The loss of the Eurelia Rail Shed would significantly threaten the integrity of Eurelia's historical fabric and identity.

The structure stands as a testament to the area's rich railway history, and it once hosted Sir Donald Bradman. A popular and frequently photographic stop located along the iconic RM Williams Way, we believe it should remain where it is for future generations to appreciate.

How will we preserve it?

We understand the need to maintain and care for this important building for the future.

For this reason, the Eurelia Preservation Society is working with stakeholders to develop a plan to maintain, care for and restore this asset over the long term.

How can you help?

We seek your support to send a clear message to oppose any actions that would erase one of the only remaining remnants of Eurelia's rail history, and remove a local asset that is loved by the community of the Orroroo Carrieton district.

While the final decision on this matter will be made by the Department of Environment and Water, Council consultation on this matter is now open, offering an opportunity to voice our opposition.

Please sign this petition today and leave a comment to express your support. Your action will help the Eurelia Preservation Society protect Eurelia's historical rail shed from relocation and work towards securing it for future generations.
