Stop the Release of Jamal Al-Hur — and Any Repeat Terrorist OffendersBackground

Jamal Al-Hur was one of the terrorists responsible for the kidnapping, torture, and murder of Sharon Edri z”l, as well as the 1997 “Apropo” Café bombing, in which 13 innocent civilians were murdered.

 

Today, Al-Hur serves as Hamas’s spokesperson inside Israel’s prison system, continuing to incite hatred and spread extremist propaganda. Despite this, there are reports that his name may be included in the next prisoner release.

Even more horrifying — if released, Al-Hur would live just five minutes from the Edri family home on Tsrifin Street, where Sharon’s mother still lives, in the same house from which her son never returned.

We have seen this before. Two of Al-Hur’s accomplices, freed in a previous deal, went on to plan the 2014 kidnapping of the three boys, which led to Operation Protective Edge. Releasing repeat offenders only ensures more bloodshed.

Why This Matters

Terrorists like Jamal Al-Hur do not reform; they regroup. Every release sends a message of weakness and endangers more innocent lives.

We cannot allow the next Sinwar to emerge from our own prisons.

What We Demand

We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Israel and all relevant authorities to:

 1. Prevent the release of Jamal Al-Hur.

 2. Prohibit the future release of any terrorist who has previously reoffended after release.

 3. Ensure that justice for the victims of terror remains uncompromised by political pressure.

 

We know what happens when these men are released — they murder again.

עצור את שחרורו של ג’מאל אל-חור – וכל מחבל חוזר שפשע שוב לאחר שחרורו

רקע

ג’מאל אל-חור היה אחד מהאחראים לחטיפתו, עינויו ורציחתו של שרון אדרי ז”ל, וכן לפיגוע בבית הקפה “אפרופו” בשנת 1997, שבו נרצחו 13 חפים מפשע.

כיום משמש אל-חור כדובר חמאס בתוך מערכת בתי הכלא, וממשיך להסית ולהפיץ תעמולה קיצונית.

למרות זאת, קיימת אפשרות ששמו ייכלל בסבב המשוחררים הבא.

הפרט המזעזע ביותר – אם ישתחרר, אל-חור עתיד להתגורר כעבור חמש דקות בלבד מביתה של אמו של שרון, ברחוב צריפין, באותו הבית שבו המשפחה עדיין גרה, בבית שממנו בנה נלקח ולא שב.

כבר ראינו מה קורה כשמשחררים מחבלים כאלה. שני שותפיו של אל-חור, ששוחררו בעסקה קודמת, היו בין מתכנני חטיפת שלושת הנערים ב-2014, אירוע שהוביל למבצע “צוק איתן”. שחרור חוזר של מחבלים הוא מתכון לעוד דם והרוגים.

מדוע זה חשוב

מחבלים כמו ג’מאל אל-חור אינם משתנים – הם מתארגנים מחדש. כל שחרור כזה הוא מסר של חולשה, שמסכן חיי אדם נוספים.

אסור לנו ליצור את הסינוואר הבא במו ידינו.

 1. למנוע את שחרורו של ג’מאל אל-חור.

 2. לאסור את שחרורם של מחבלים שחזרו לבצע פיגועים לאחר ששוחררו.

 3. להבטיח שהצדק לקורבנות הטרור לא ייפגע בשל לחצים פוליטיים.
