I am a resident of the Bonnerworth community in Peterborough, ON, Canada. This park is more than just a green space; it is a valuable part of our community. The proposed redevelopment, which includes a 14-court, illuminated pickleball complex and an 40+ vehicle parking lot, threatens to disrupt this cherished local amenity.

Bonnerworth Park has been a haven for children, families, and seniors alike for generations. It is heavily used for kids baseball, adult slo-pitch and athletic programs offered by a nearby secondary school. Access to green spaces like Bonnerworth Park can significantly improve physical and mental well being, as well as overall quality of life.

The redevelopment plan disregards these benefits without providing any clear advantages to the kids, students and residents who use this park. We believe that preserving our natural environment should be prioritized over special interests such as pickleball players.
