Hey everyone, I’m providing a great update. The planning committee heard the case to rezone The Pines yesterday. Multiple area residence and members of the community showed up in numbers to stand in opposition to the proposed rezoning. Several speakers, stood up to voice their concerns and the committee heard them loud and clear. All members of the committee, except one voted to deny the application. The committee also thanked the community for their participation, and expressed that this was exactly what these public hearings are held for. To hear the voices of the people they represent as they make sound informed decisions on how our city and it’s growth move forward. With that being said, the planning committee is only a recommendation board. This will still be heard in front of city council to make the final decision. Hopefully our city council members listen to the planning committee’s recommendation, and also deny the application. I will follow up with dates of that hearing once I know them, please reach out to the city councilman of your district, as their vote will be the ultimate decision.
