Solar Farm Proposal in Middlefield back on Agenda

Hello Supporters!
In late May of this year, the Middlefield Planning and Zoning Commission voted to deny the Solar Farm Proposal brought by Rockfall Solar One LLC and the solar developer Verogy. I felt this was in part due to you, the signers of this petition, who recognized that this proposal was not right for this location and our town. I told the Commission at that meeting about this petition, and the many town residents who signed it in just the 5 days it was created before that meeting. I have since learned from town officials that these entities then proceeded to sue the Town of Middlefield. It seems that as a result of the suit that the Town and the solar developer have agreed to allow the solar farm application to come back before the Town Planning and Zoning Commission and that the solar developer has agreed to some fire safety issues to be rectified in the proposal.
So the fight continues on! I hope you agree that we, and the Town should not be bullied by these frivolous lawsuit tactics. Please show your support by attending the next Middlefield Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting on July 22nd, 6:30pm, at the Town Community Center, 405 Main St. Middlefield. The public is allowed to speak and we especially need town residents to attend and voice your opinion. If you live in town, please invite other town residents to sign this petition and/or sign this petition. Most of the residents in Middlefield know little to nothing about the solar farm proposal, and it continues to be that the only ones being directly notified about it by mail are the property abutters. The image above was taken at the solar farm proposed site and represents just a small number of the 100-foot tall trees that will be clear-cut over 6 acres if this proposal is approved.
