Hello Everyone,

Thank you for you emails to City Council and the Planning Commission. We are making a difference.

A couple of updates:

If you would like a sign for your yard, please let us know by emailing LudlowOrganizers@gmail.com *OR* by filling out this form:  Sign Request (Delivery is available.)

The developer WILL PRESENT their updated development plan to the Planning Commission NEXT MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6th. According to the packet submitted to the city, they still plan on putting 88 units onto the Solaronics property and are requesting Brownfield Assistance. The meeting is at 7 pm, 400 Sixth Street, Rochester, MI 48307. PLEASE ATTEND and let the PC know that we want them to respect our master plan as written. The Planning Commission will be voting on whether or not to proceed with a public hearing for this development on Monday, February 6, 2023. (The developer's site plan can be found in the Planning Commission Packet for 2/6/23 on the City's Website.)

On January 16, 2023 Rochester's City Council and Planning Commission met in joint session with McKenna and Associates to discuss zoning and our Master Plan. **IMPORTANT** The Planning Commission and City Council were advised to follow the Master Plan at least twice during their joint CC and PC meeting on January 16th. Please see the two small video highlights below. (The meeting can be viewed in its entirety on the City's website.)

"The Master Plan is technically held as a guiding document. It is designed after countless input from your own citizens. So if you're going to deviate from the vision of your own citizens, there has to be a compelling argument for why you want to deviate. There has to have been some dramatic change in society, living conditions, or the site itself that necessitated you actually deviating from what you had set as your vision."-From January 16, 2023 combined meeting of City Council and the Planning Commission

FOLLOW YOUR MASTER PLAN WHENEVER POSSIBLE WHEN CONSIDERING REZONING. FOR SURE. THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE.-From January 16, 2023 combined meeting of City Council and the Planning Commission

Remember, Rochester's Master Plan lists Solaronics as TWO FAMILY RESIDENTIAL on the Future Land Use map. RT has the appearance and character of single-family housing. The developer wants to rezone to RM-2 to allow for a huge condo/apartment complex. We do NOT want this rezoning.
Contact City Council and the Planning Commission and ask them to stick with the Master Plan as it was written.
