The Issue

🚨 THIS LOCATION CANNOT HANDLE MORE DRIVE-THRU TRAFFIC
Traffic congestion in this area is already a serious problem.
A high-volume drive-thru will add even more vehicles, turning movements, and potential backups.
Children, residents, and people walking their dogs regularly travel through the surrounding area.
More vehicles entering and exiting the property means more opportunities for pedestrian and vehicle conflicts.
Nearby residents could face additional noise, headlights, litter, and disruption.
The City has already raised questions about traffic impacts associated with this proposal.
We, the undersigned residents and members of the Fenton community, ask the City of Fenton to reject the proposed Dutch Bros development at 1111 London Circle Lane in its currently proposed form.

This is not about whether people like Dutch Bros.

It is about whether this is an appropriate location for a high-volume drive-thru business.

The surrounding area already experiences substantial traffic. Adding a business whose model depends heavily on a continuous flow of vehicles could increase congestion and create additional traffic entering, exiting, turning, and potentially queuing near an already busy roadway.

Our concerns extend beyond inconvenience.

🚸 Pedestrian Safety
People live here. Children walk here. Residents walk their dogs here. Pedestrians should not have to contend with substantially more vehicles entering and exiting a busy drive-thru development.

🚗 Traffic & Congestion
Existing traffic conditions should be taken seriously before another traffic-intensive use is approved. Any traffic-impact study should thoroughly examine peak-hour congestion, vehicle queuing, turning movements, nearby intersections, and the possibility of traffic backing up beyond the property.

🏡 Quality of Life
Development should complement the surrounding community rather than unnecessarily burden it. Additional vehicle noise, headlights, litter, congestion, and drive-thru activity can directly affect nearby residents.

📍 This Is About the Location
We are not opposed to businesses investing in Fenton. We support responsible development that makes sense for the community.

But not every development belongs on every parcel.

Before approving this proposal, we ask the City of Fenton, the Planning & Zoning Commission, and other responsible officials to listen to residents, carefully evaluate the traffic and pedestrian-safety consequences, and consider whether this particular site is appropriate for a high-volume drive-thru operation.

Please sign this petition if you believe Fenton deserves responsible development, safer roads, and a meaningful voice for the people who actually live here.

SAY YES TO RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT. SAY NO TO THIS LOCATION.

“This topic has NOT even made it out of Planning and Zoning yet. It has NOT been presented to the Board. It would be unethical for any member of the Board to have a predetermined response on ANY topic without letting the petitioner actually present their plans to the Board. Alderman Maserang [Note: The Change.org Civic Engagement Team reaches out to decision makers to let them know about petitions in their community and to help facilitate engagement with supporters. The above was an email response we received regarding this petition.]”
