Thank you to everyone who has signed and supported the petition regarding the proposed high-rise development at Southbury Leisure Park💪. Your support has helped bring attention to the concerns many residents have about the scale of this proposal and its potential impact on our community.
But we have now reached a critical moment.
While petitions help raise awareness, the council’s planning decision will be influenced far more by individual objections submitted directly to the planning application. If you signed this petition, the most powerful thing you can do now is take a few minutes to formally submit your comments.
At the time of writing, only around 143 comments have been lodged. Considering how many residents may be affected, we know many more voices need to be heard.
Key details
Application reference: 25/04330/OUT
Deadline for objections/comments: 18 March 2026
Submit your comments here :
If you have concerns about the scale and density of the development, the pressure it may place on parking, traffic, local services, towering over homes and Kingsmead school or the character of the area, please ensure your views are formally recorded before the deadline.
If you experience problems using the Enfield planning portal, you can submit your comments by email:
planning.support@enfield.gov.uk
There have also been widespread concerns about the consultation process. A number of residents report that they never received consultation letters, and others experienced difficulties accessing the planning portal. This makes it even more important that residents take the opportunity to make their voices heard.
This development could shape the Southbury area for decades to come. If we stay silent, decisions will be made without the full voice of the community being heard.
Please help keep the momentum going:
👉 Submit your comment to the council
👉 Share this petition update with neighbours, family and friends
👉 Encourage others to speak up before the deadline
Together, our collective voice can ensure the council fully understands the concerns of the local community.
Thank you again for your support , every little helps ❤️
