We urge the TDSB (Toronto District School Board) to NOT CUT the IMI Music Program.

Music education brings benefits far beyond learning an instrument; it fosters creativity, enhances cognitive development, and improves overall academic performance. Music education supports cultural awareness, offering inclusive learning experiences for all students. Investing in music education helps cultivate well-rounded, empathetic individuals who contribute to a more collaborative society.

In a time when divisiveness is overwhelming, music education creates social bonds between students.

Unfortunately, despite the wealth of evidence illustrating the benefits of music education, music classes and programs are often the first on the chopping block when it comes to budget cuts. The proposed elimination of the IMI program in the Toronto District School Board will decimate music education in Toronto.

Our children deserve a complete education that includes music education.

Let's ensure that the policy-makers at the Toronto District School Board know how much we value music education. Let us remind them that music is more than a subject - it's a lifeline, a joy, a voice, and an essential part of education.
