Murphy's Law - Stop Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) from coming into effect throughout the Province of Quebec, the City of Montreal and all Municipalities. Overturn existing BSL in municipalities that have the law.

*As of September 8, 2016, signatories of this petition are contesting the enactment of breed specific legislation throughout the Province of Quebec, Montreal,  and all other municipalities, including Chateauguay for which this petition was originally started.

If BSL becomes law, thousands of innocent animals will be euthanized with the governments' mission to eradicate a race. We are petitioning for consultation with animal behavior experts (such as Ordres des Veterinaires) to establish an effective law (breed neutral) that will protect both citizens and innocent animals.

Stipulations enforced in this proposed law will make it virtually impossible for many to keep their dogs (i.e. liability insurance) and will also force those looking for homes to be euthanized.

Original 2015 Petition Details.

Chateauguay (Quebec, Canada) allows the banning of specific breeds of dogs, and also allows the euthanasia of these dogs, based only on the breed of dog (not specific behavior). All of these specified breeds and hybrids with no aggressive behavior are a target. The City of Chateauguay is allowed to enter  homes or the private property of any person and remove and euthanize the dogs. Breeds that are banned include any pitbull or hybrid mix including Bull terrier, Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and all cross or hybrid breeds of these. People can be fined just for visiting the city with these dogs.

This law needs to be abolished. Non aggressive dogs of this breed must no longer be a target. Dogs that have been properly socialized regardless of breed have the right to live and thrive in Chateauguay.

This is a barbaric and prejudice law that needs to be eradicated.

Châteauguay (Québec, Canada) permet l'interdiction des races  de chiens particulières (LRP), et permet également à l'euthanasie de ces chiens, fondée uniquement sur la race de chien (comportement non spécifiques).

La Ville de Châteauguay est autorisé à entrer dans les maisons et enlever et euthanasier les chiens. Races qui sont interdits comprennent tout pitbull ou mélange hybride dont Bull terrier, Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier et tous les croisées ou hybrides de ces races.

Cette loi doit être aboli. Nous devons protéger les animaux de compagnie qui sont bien élevés et bien intégrés socialement. Les chiens qui ont été correctement socialisés peu importe la race ont le droit de vivre et de prospérer dans Châteauguay.

Ceci est une loi barbare et les préjugés qui doit être éradiquée.
