Growing up near the Everglades in Western Palm Beach County, Florida, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible natural beauty and biodiversity this unique ecosystem has to offer. It has been a source of peace, inspiration, and adventure for myself and countless others who have been lucky enough to call this place home. Now, this cherished landscape is under threat due to the proposed construction of the Project Tango A.I Center.

This massive undertaking poses significant risks to our environment and community. The center will require substantial water resources, putting additional strain on our local water sources, which are already facing challenges due to Florida's growing population and changing climate conditions. The local ecosystem, vital to the biodiversity of the region, relies on these water sources, and any depletion could have catastrophic impacts on the flora and fauna.

Furthermore, the energy requirements for the A.I center are staggering. The consumption of vast amounts of electricity can contribute to increased carbon emissions, undermining efforts to combat climate change. The noise pollution from cooling systems needed to prevent overheating of the technology infrastructure will disrupt the tranquility and natural sounds of the Everglades, affecting both wildlife and the serenity that millions of visitors and locals cherish.

The Everglades is home to numerous endangered and threatened species, including the Florida panther and the American crocodile. The disturbance and potential destruction of this habitat could push these species closer to extinction, altering the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

We propose that alternative sites for Project Tango be considered, ones that would not jeopardize our precious natural resources. There are likely many other suitable locations that can accommodate such a project without harming our environment.
