Wow. What a mad few weeks in politics. Finally accountability is back on the minds of people in Westminster.
With Boris Johnson now in charge of a diminished caretaker government and many of his controversial policies quietly falling to the wayside, all eyes are now on the Conservative leadership election.
We are closer than we ever have been to saving Channel 4 - thanks to all of the support the campaign has received and every signal one of you that have signed, shared, and engaged!
Yesterday leadership candidate, Tom Tugendhat, was the first candidate to publicly commit to saving Channel 4. Now is the moment to make sure that all the candidates understand how wildly unpopular this policy is with people across the UK. We must protect this important institution. Keeping it safe for future generations and ensuring that those who wish to govern the UK are held to account.
Tonight Channel 4 is stepping up and playing an important role in our nation’s history, by hosting the first televised leadership debate of this contest. It is just one more example of Channel 4’s commitment to transparency and integrity.
Without Channel 4 this debate wouldn’t be happening. How can they use Channel 4 to win voters and then not stand up to save it?!
Will you give 30 seconds of your time to join me in asking the leadership contenders to publicly commit to saving Channel 4?
Thank you for your continued support and persistence with this campaign. Together we can save the channel we love.
