You can certainly see why Nadine Dorries and Boris Johnson are moving in on Channel 4 and the BBC on their supposed lack of impartiality.

By 'lack of impartiality' we can only assume they mean 'media having the nerve to do their job holding the government to account for failures, wrongdoing and dishonesty'

It is the purpose of independent news and investigative journalism to hold power to account. 

As Nadine Dorries herself tweeted on World Press Day

'Our democracy relies on Press freedom.  Good journalism exposes wrongdoing and injustice,  it scrutinises power and it champions truth.  Every single day journalists are called upon to to be fearless and fair.  Today we give thanks to them all.'
