Hello,

Today the current Prime Minister officially announced a new Media Bill, aiming to reform Channel 4 from a “statutory corporation to a new corporate structure that could be sold”.

There is no longer any question about it. 

Channel 4 will be shortly up for sale to the highest bidder. This will put world renowned investigative reporting, creative dramas, family favourites, and rarely heard stories about marginalised communities at risk.

No one in the UK voted to privatise Channel 4 and the Government has no democratic justification to make this change.

Now is the moment to make this Government sit up and listen. Together we can make a real difference and show the Prime Minister how much we value a publicly owned Channel 4. 

On Thursday I will be going to Downing Street for an emergency petition delivery.

If you’d like to support our petition delivery please ask your MP - either via twitter, email, or giving them a call - to come and join us at Downing Street at 10 AM on Thursday the 12th. We know that lots of MPs are against this plan, let’s make sure that this Government knows that too.
