Well, it seems like interesting timing that, today, the Government has announced the freezing of funding to the BBC and the scrapping of the licence fee.

It is another reminder of the need to actively protect what can so easily (and irreversibly) be lost.

It seems to be no coincidence that news journalism

which holds power to account,

that seeks to hold liars to account,

is being targeted at this time.

Channel 4 News is one of the most respected and trusted news sources in a sea of disinformation.  

It's more important than ever that we protect independent programming.

Privatisation will compromise truth, honesty, integrity in the pursuit of manipulation, control and profit.
