As of January 9th, 2022, Boston Public Schools' officials have postponed all BPS sports until further notice. I, along with many other students, parents, etc., believe that this is a cowardly move by BPS and the city of Boston's leadership and we believe that students should be able to play their sport without the worries of COVID. Extracurricular activities are a staple in the Boston Public Schools and for everyone's season to be shut down is not the correct way to deal with this situation. These high school sporting events are not making up much of the bulk of COVID cases in the city, and we can all agree that letting us play out our season is the only option that BPS has for this winter and spring season. This is the third winter season for many of us that has been cut short by COVID restrictions. We have followed all of the rules and have minimized our exposures. Preventing us from playing is unfair and taking a big toll on our health in so many ways.
