Stop the Posting of Animal Abuse Videos on Social Media Platforms
The Issue
I am an ardent animal lover, and every day I witness a horrifying sight that deeply disturbs me - videos of animal abuse casually posted on social media platforms. These videos often depict innocent baby monkeys being starved, sexually abused, tortured until their little bodies can no longer endure. Despite my efforts to report thousands of these videos every week, platforms like Facebook dismiss these concerns stating they do not violate their community standards.
These abusers are not only causing harm to animals but also profiting from it. They earn thousands of pounds from people who donate to watch this abuse or under the guise that they are “rescuing” these poor creatures. It is estimated that there are tens of thousands such videos circulating online (source: World Animal Protection). This is a clear violation of animal rights and it needs immediate attention.
We must urge social media platforms to take stricter actions against such content and those who post them. We need stronger regulations in place for what constitutes acceptable content when it comes to animals' well-being. Our silence allows this cruelty to continue unchecked.
Let's raise our voices together against this brutal exploitation and demand an end to the posting of animal abuse videos on all social media platforms. Please sign this petition today; let us stand up for those who cannot defend themselves.
