Does anyone else feel like kidney disease and cancer in pets is becoming an epidemic? 🐈 🐕

I’ve had multiple pets in my years, and I’ve never seen so many of our fur-babies suffering from kidney failure and cancer like they are today. 💔

I lost my sweet baby that had kidney failure last April, and now I’ve just been told my second dog has the same diagnosis. I’m done being told it’s 'just age.' 💔

It’s heartbreaking to watch: Big Food companies and vets pushing $124 bags of food that strip away the protein our dogs need to stay strong. We are paying a premium to watch our best friends waste away for two years instead of actually fixing the toxic chemicals in their everyday food that caused this in the first place.

We have a real chance to change the law with RFK Jr. leading the way. Please sign to protect our fur-babies! 🐾

Let’s get the poison out of the kibble. 🐾

#PawsOverPoison #PetHealth

Dear Secretary Kennedy,

I am writing to you as the founder of the #PawsOverPoison movement, a national initiative representing pet owners from across the political spectrum. I am launching this movement to unite pet owners across the country who demand higher standards for the animals we call family. Today, I am asking you to extend the same fierce oversight you have brought to the human food supply to the pet food industry.

We respectfully urge the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish "The National Fur-Family Health Act" to address the following critical safety gaps:

Species-Specific Protein Labeling: Federal law must mandate the naming of all animal species. Terms like "Meat and Bone Meal" are unacceptably vague and allow for the inclusion of non-descript rendered tissues that pose a risk to pets with specific health sensitivities.

Removal of Cosmetic Toxins: We demand a ban on synthetic dyes (Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 2) and chemical preservatives like BHA. These additives serve no nutritional purpose and are added solely for human aesthetic preference, despite being documented stressors to animal health.

Regulation of Synthetic Additives: We request an audit of high-dose synthetic vitamin premixes, specifically dl-alpha-tocopherol (synthetic Vitamin E). These "mirror-image" molecules place an immense filtering burden on the renal system and, in excess, act as blood thinners that interfere with essential Vitamin K functions.

The industry argues that "dogs are living longer," but their quality of life is plummeting because of the chemicals we are feeding them. They aren't just getting old; they are getting sick from their bowls.

Protecting our pets is a unifying American value. We believe that transparency in the food chain is a fundamental consumer right that transcends political affiliation. We look forward to your leadership in ensuring that the "garbage" is removed from the American dog bowl for good.

Sincerely,

Staci G.
