Stop the plight of Women and Girls in Afghanistan

The Issue

In Afghanistan, women have now been banned from attending university. They have already been banned from going to secondary school.

This latest move further restricts the rights of Afghan women and is another measure by the Taliban to actively reduce females lives to one of servitude.

The women of Afghanistan are human beings. They may not share our lives personally on a day-to-day level. They may live thousands of miles away. They may or may not dress like us. But they are human. They are US. They are YOU.

We cannot as a nation, continue to look away and we cannot let our government and businesses that trade with Afghanistan, directly or indirectly look away.

We must urge our government to be more responsible when it comes to its trade arrangements with countries like Afghanistan and it must put pressure on them to allow ALL its citizens to have freedom and basic human rights, including access to education.

We need as many signatures as possible to send a clear message to our UK government to do all they can to help the women and girls of Afghanistan have a future worth living for.
