As a New Yorker who finds the current Pledge of Allegiance monotonous, I believe it's time for a change. The existing pledge, while steeped in history and tradition, has failed to resonate with many modern citizens like myself who find it unexciting. This lack of engagement is evident in a 2023 survey by CIRCLE which found the only 76.9% of young people recite the pledge daily     (CIRCLE, Tufts University).

DJ Khaled, an acclaimed music producer and social media personality known for his motivational speeches and catchphrases                                                (such as "call me Asparagus" or "life is Roblox"), offers and alternative that could reinvigorate our national oath. His messages are often about positivity, perseverance and self-belief - values that align perfectly with the American ideals.

By adopting DJ Khaled's pledge as our new state oath, we can be at the center of progression, above all the other states and create a more engaging way for our citizens to express their loyalty to our great nation. This change would not only make the process more interesting  but also encourage wider participation among all age groups
