This Monday, the CH Village Boardroom was packed, with standing-room-only and residents out the door. 30 of 31 who spoke were strongly opposed to the oversized condo development, yet the Village Board went ahead and voted Yes 5-1.  The same board then went on to approve $75,000 for "workshops" to listen to residents on the subject of "how do we want to use our downtown?" Really? Does this Village board expect residents to believe that they will "listen," when they clearly heard that residents DID NOT want the condo building, but then turned around and immediately APPROVED that Condo building? Residents showed skepticism at this $75k expenditure and rightfully so. What is the motivation for the workshops? WHY didn't this same Village Board conduct these "workshops" 24 months ago when residents first said NO to a plaza on Sept 12, 2023?

More to come on these "downtown workshops," which are designed to purposely go around (circumvent and undermine) FOIA (freedom of information act), as stated by the Village at this meeting.
