Not only will our right-turn-fork-lane be closed, but moving parking spots from our storefronts will create a virtual double-diagonal parking lot on Park Avenue. This was never part of the CBBEL traffic engineer's recommendation. WHY is the Village randomly playing with safe elements of our traffic flow to expensively move parking spots from one area of town to another that is merely 20 feet away? This is a gross mis-use of Tax Incentive Funds (TIF) which are not meant to tear up safe and proven roads and crosswalks. CH already has an impeccable safety record and a very, very low crash history (per traffic engineer on 9/12/23 and on 6/16/25.)

They WHY are our leaders messing with these elements that are so close to our railroad tracks just 200 feet away? Back-ups of traffic reached almost to the railroad tracks when they tested the closure of our escape-turn-lane this May. Our leaders are gambling with safety in our village. And the closure test caused loss of customers and sales for our small businesses, to the tune of a year-over-year 40% drop.

Can you PLEASE SHARE this with one neighbor today? We need a united front of informed residents to stop this dangerous game of parking whack-a-mole. We are already at almost 800. Let's move that number up with CH residents who don't know the plan. We are running out of time because release of funds to tear up the town will be on the Village board's agenda soon.
