Did you know the ACTUAL backup was almost to the railroad tracks at 320 feet, NOT 180 ft as reported by the Traffic Engineer on 6/12/25. Can you PLEASE SHARE this information with at least one neighbor today? This image clearly shows the reported vs ACTUAL backup that occurred on May 14, 2025, during the "test closure" of the southbound right-turn-escape-slip-fork lane in Clarendon Hills. And this will occur with a bus (40 second wait) or even with a single pedestrian who will make the full crossing from coffee store to triangle to Wasabi (also 40 seconds, with only one vehicle advancing between the two crossings.) 

This test closure in May of 2025, was done in ideal weather without any significant coffee-shop vehicle and pedestrian traffic. It simply is NOT safe to ever close our right-turn-escape lane and traffic-triangle. It just won't work. That stretch of Prospect Avenue through our downtown CANNOT filter traffic away from the tracks efficiently and safely without its' existing right-turn-escape-lane. 

Prospect Avenue does not have the capacity length to do the filtering effectively and efficiently in rush hours. The right-turn lane must remain open. And we will have 4 other plazas (Tierra plaza, Village Hall plaza, Sparrow will have a plaza, 104 Walker will have a plaza.) We do NOT need a fifth plaza covering up our merchant parking and our safe and proven passage through town. Please encourage your neighbor to join 650 neighbors who have already Signed the Petition to Stop the CH Plaza Plan. We must show CH Village leadership how many residents are opposed to this unsafe, reckless plaza plan that will endanger our lives and our small businesses.
