Dear MN River Trail Supporter,
The Bloomington City Council election on November 7th is of the utmost importance. Our fight against the paved trail comes down to these two scenarios.
1. If those that want a paved trail (supported by the former representative/paid lobbyist) get elected they will add to the push at the State Capitol to get funding to pave the Minnesota River Trail. That’s right: directly or indirectly, you the taxpayer will have to pay for cutting down hundreds of trees and installing pavement in a flood plain, and then maintaining that trail.
2. If the candidates that oppose the trail get elected we have a far better chance to keep the trail as a natural surface trail.
If you live in Bloomington VOTE, it is extremely important. If you don’t live in Bloomington contact someone that does and share this information with them. This is a yes or no for a paved trail!
Here is a brief breakdown for you to make your own choice:
Candidates:
Mike Arulfo - Supports a natural trail, opposes paved trail
Nathan Coulter - No position given to Save the River Bottoms
Larry Frost - Supports a natural trail, opposes paved trail
Jack Baloga (incumbent) - did not state a position
Eldon Spencer - Supports a natural trail, opposes paved trail
Shawn Nelson - Supports a natural trail
Patrick Martin - Supports a natural trail
Jon Oleson (incumbent) - No position given to Save the River Bottoms
