For public release: In order to better support our advocacy efforts, Save the River Bottoms is now organized as a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting to protect one of the last wild places in the Metro. The addition of STRB as an organization will better allow MORC to focus on working with the DNR, USFWS and City of Bloomington on the existing natural trail and its alignment during the planning process for the State Trail corridor. Save the River Bottoms organization will continue to fight the ill-conceived and fiscally irresponsible plan pushed by the few at the expense of the many who cherish this area. Stay tuned for ways that you can help support either of these separate, but complementary organizations and endeavors. In the meantime, please read the letter in the link below. This letter recently went out to 81 key Minnesota legislators in both the House and Senate, as well as to Governor Dayton and Lt. Governor Smith in advance of the legislative session. The proponents of the paved trail will be working hard to find even MORE funding to pay for this supposedly “fully funded” trail. We will be working even harder to ensure that the will of the many is not ignored. STRB thanks you for your support! #savetheriverbottoms http://bit.ly/1T5ryli
