Stop the pay per mile tax proposal in the UK

Stop the pay per mile tax proposal in the UK
The Issue
With the rise of electric vehicles, the UK government is exploring a pay-per-mile road tax strategy to replace lost revenue from traditional fuel duties. This new system would charge drivers based on the miles they drive.
The government are suggesting there wouldn't be an increase in charges but we know this never works this way.
New schemes lead to an increase in charges in the long term.
This is a new strategy to implement more control over the UK public and will make it very difficult for people to budget.
Looking at the broader picture and history, past experience tells us this will lead to increased charges and control and this must be stopped.
New rules are implemented to generate more revenue and this is essentially what will happen to everyone in the UK, don't be fooled into thinking you will save £
If the UK government needs to generate additional funds then they should assess the monies sent to other countries and the sheer wastage in funds within the public sector etc
Reasons why this should not be allowed:
Government will have the facility to increase costs whenever they like.
Purchasers of electric vehicles would have initially purchased these vehicles at inflated prices because of the benefit of reduced expenses.
People having to commute long distances for work etc will be unfairly penalised and otherwise,
This is being labelled as a tax on electric vehicles but inevitably this will lead to everyone being hit, as the additional expenses are always passed down from business's to the consumer i.e. the general public.
The UK public is generally already struggling to make ends meet because of all the other taxes and hidden taxes. The government needs to take responsibility and do a thorough cost analysis on all of the spending, whilst looking at their policies which include sending money to other counties and allowing mass immigration.
