Stop the opening of a probation office in Mission Viejo, California.

The Issue

According to CQ Press 2013/2014 City Crime Rate Rankings, Mission Viejo has been ranked the safest city in California and ninth safest city in United States. We have some of the best and safest schools and parks today where our children can study and play safely and the elderly can walk without any fear. According to City Data statistics, in the last 7 years there have been 0 murders in Mission Viejo and it has one of the smallest ratio of sex offenders to residents in all of United States.

The proposed location for a  probation office will change these statistics.

According to county representatives, the 7,793-square-foot operation at 26030 Acero in the Highpark business area will average approximately 400 clients (sex offenders, child molestors and other criminals) throughout the week. The county is expecting to make on average five arrests per week at the proposed probation office location. The new location will be within walking distance to several elementary schools, montessories, parks as well as healthcare facilities for elders.

We as residents of Mission Viejo demand that an alternate location is found for this probation office outside our beautiful city of Mission Viejo. We appreciate all the hard work that the Mission Viejo City Council as well as our officers have put in to make this city a safe haven for its residents, and we want to keep it that way.

Please stop the opening of a probation office in Mission Viejo, California.

Confirmed victory
