The Issue

Videos of a private confrontation involving folk artist Madhuri Rathod were filmed without permission and posted online. Instead of keeping personal disputes private or letting authorities handle them, these videos were uploaded to social media. Now, multiple channels are sharing, spreading, and profiting from these clips for views and ad money. This has triggered massive online bullying, abusive comments, and public shaming directed at independent folk artists who do not have big PR teams or expensive lawyers to defend their privacy. Private arguments should never be turned into viral public spectacles on social media. It strips individuals of their basic dignity, endangers artists' livelihoods, and encourages dangerous digital mob behavior.

What We Are Asking For

1. Immediate Removal of Non-Consensual Videos: We urge YouTube and Instagram/Meta platforms moderation teams to enforce their Privacy Violation and Harassment policies by immediately removing all secretly filmed confrontation videos and invasive re-uploads.
2. Demonetize and Penalize Exploitative Channels: Disable ad revenue and issue policy strikes against channels that re-post unauthorized private dispute footage to profit off public shaming and viral mobbing.
