The Issue

The Ohio Board of Pharmacy is attempting a total sweep to criminalize every form of kratom in Ohio. They are using a "divide and conquer" strategy by pushing three separate bans at once. We must stand together as a unified movement of consumers and small business owners to stop this overreach.
Here are the 3 proposals unruly to the system and needs addressing..
•THE PERMANENT BAN ON MITRAGYNINE (Rules 4729:9-1-01 & 4729:9-1-01.2): The Board has proposed making Mitragynine—the main part of the plant—a Schedule I felony. This would result in a PERMANENT TOTAL BAN on all powder, leaf, and tea.
•THE 7-OH PERMANENT BAN: The Board is moving to make the temporary 7-OH ban permanent. This targets all extracts and high-potency products, destroying hundreds of small businesses overnight.
•THE METABOLITE PROBLEM (UNINTENDED CRIMINALIZATION): Because the human body naturally metabolizes mitragynine into small amounts of 7-hydroxymitragynine, scheduling either substance raises serious concerns about unintended criminal exposure for lawful consumers. These rules could create legal ambiguity around testing, enforcement, and impairment standards, putting ordinary kratom users at risk without evidence of harm.

OUR DEMAND: We demand that the Board of Pharmacy withdraw all attempts to schedule Mitragynine and 7-OH. We demand that the state follow Senate Bill 299 to keep all kratom products legal and regulated under the Department of Agriculture. We will not allow unelected bureaucrats to turn law-abiding citizens into felons.

We, the people of America(not just Ohio) have always relied on herbal alternatives like Kratom all of its derivatives, to manage our mental and physical ailments(as many of us do not wish to be reliant on other forms of medication). I still wish to continue its open availability for United States citizens. I first handily seen and experience that the benefits outweigh any concerns for US consumers. Ive been amazed of what help it’s gotten me(and MANY other Americans) so far in life. I like to see it continue to help others.
