Stop the new parking charges at Sainsbury's Willesden High Road
The Issue
RE-THINK YOUR NEW CAR PARK POLICY!
Local Trader Survey results (based on 30 traders near Sainsbury's):
- 90% of local traders say customers are shopping less
- 83% of local traders think the new parking rules are BAD or VERY BAD for their business
- 87% of local traders say their customers complain about the new parking rules
- 91% of local traders think shoppers need 60-90 minutes to use the local shops and services
Quotes:
“Sainsbury’s have added £10 tax to our prices”
“Fewer shoppers coming on week days now”
“Can’t even go to the Post Office in 20 mins”
“My elderly customers just can’t get around that quickly”
“My customers now park illegally and we have to watch their cars”
“Few eat-in now, they grab a quick take-away”
“Customers have just stopped coming”
“Disabled people have enough hurdles already for goodness sake”
We the undersigned believe your new charges damage the centre of Willesden. You are negatively impacting your customers who also want to access local shops as well as the supermarket. The Sainsbury’s carpark has long been the only place to park easily to access local businesses and leisure outlets in the community, as well as Sainsbury's. Your change to just 20 minutes free parking, from the previously allowed 2 hours:
· Damages the footfall of local shops, restaurants and services
· Damages local goodwill towards Sainsbury’s as alternative parking is difficult
· Will make Willesden a less attractive place to visit for everyone.
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, ASK SAINSBURY’S TO THINK AGAIN!
NOTE: You do NOT have to donate to Change.org on the following pages in order to sign the petition. It is voluntary.
