We the under-signed want Urgent action to be taken to Stop The Mould!  We want the Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government to bring forward the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, Now! These sample images taken by myself reveals the fact that me and my family are one of the 2 million people suffering from MOULD in our homes in the UK!  This hazard which causes respiratory or breathing problems, skin allergies and weakened immunities is a Scandal in housing in the 6th richest country in the world. 

Since 23 August 2023 online report and 6 October 2023, the local Harrow council subsequently decided not to do any Repairs. Thereby, ignoring their Statutory Duty of Care by allowing bath loads of water from an upstairs flat to continue leaking through the ceilings of my bathroom, a bedroom and the hallway walls housing the Fire and Smoke Alarms creating another Risk of Fire Hazard; I am still waiting for the Repairs upstairs to be confirmed to myself in writing.  Me and my family were left in a what is described by the council's own Surveyor as a P1 Emergency or Life-threatening situation every time water poured into the Hallway ceilings with Risk of Fire!  Furthermore, despite the Environmental Protection department being made aware of the MOULD I was left to clean it and consequently weakening my immunity with Shingles an adult form of chickenpox.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government, Angela Rayner, has decided to kick the can of Landlord Responsibility and Accountability for maintaining the Health and Safety of their properties under the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023 down the road.  She has kicked this Law designed to further protect residents down the road to October 2025 instead of activating this Law right NOW because it is a matter of Urgency.   

Awaab's Law is named after a little boy called Awaab Ishak who died due to mould in his home causing a respiratory condition.  What more will it take to bring this Law forward?

I cannot wait, me and my family and all the 2 million people and families in the UK especially those who already face challenges of poverty, disabilities, discrimination, inequalities and marginalisation Cannot Wait for Repairs while our homes fall into Disrepair and our Health is at stake with pain and suffering!

I Reiterate, "We Cannot Wait Any longer!"

My Rallying Call is to, "Take ACTION Now!  I would need over 100,000 signatures to get this Law into Parliament to be Debated again with the Urgency it deserves for the sake of our lives, welfare and wellbeing.  We have the Power in our Hands to make a difference now and for the Next GENERATION: our Children's Children because they will be the ones left to deal with this crisis on a Local, National and Global scale housing issue.
