Stop the Mobile Tower upgrade at Carrington Park Childrens Playground
The issue
Children's playgrounds should not be the site for these developments.
This playground is in direct vicinity of a re-proposed & previously rejected tower upgrade. It will result in an EME hike in the direct vicinity from 2.2% to 8.03%! See EME graph.

In 2021 the mayor at the time and council wrote to Nokia the installer addressing residents and parents concerns asking the guarantee and safety and Nokia consequently withdrew based on these concerns to conduct a review of the proposed design.
Nokia's prior response: (October 2021) "in consideration of the issues you have raised we have decided to conduct a review of the proposed design for the planned upgrade. As a result, we will withdraw the notification dated 1 September 2021". If the technology promised is safe why did they take this initial step to withdrawl & review it?
The redesign now is dual carrier with 3 Vodafone and 3 Optus 5G antennas and fourteen remote radio units which we sight is more than the original design.
Whilst the development can seek to comply to ACMA it should have council consent and acknowledgement in some form. Council owns this park and should support your concerns if you use it too.
Sighting ARPANSA's own reference documents 'The effects of exposure to RF EME remains a subject of research and of active debate within the scientific and wider community''. If its a debate then please proceed with caution we ask. https://www.arpansa.gov.au/sites/default/files/tr178.pdf
The WHO's IARC report still classifies EME still as a possible class 2 B carcinogen, which doesn't appease concerns addressed, particularly at site like this of higher intensity where young children play. https://www.iarc.who.int/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/pr208_E.pdf
For safety sake of the childrens, parents and those who use this playground - Please ask Nokia and carriers Optus and Vodafone to guarantee site safety or better relocate the proposed tower away from the park.
