Stop the merger of Harefield Infant and Junior Schools

Stop the merger of Harefield Infant and Junior Schools
The Issue
Hillingdon council have launched a consultation on the proposed merger of Harefield Infant school and Harefield Junior school.
The council have failed to present any tangible reasons for this merger as this will bring no benefit for the schools as they are closely aligned already.
If this merger goes ahead it will mean a loss of £160,000 in funding. This in turn will leave the school cutting staff to absorb this loss.
Schools have endured years of austerity and there is nothing left to cut except staff.
The Headteacher, parents, staff, and governors are all against this proposal as it brings no benefit to the school, only cuts.
Ultimately it will mean the children's education will suffer. School support staff such as teaching assistants provide invaluable support to children, especially those with additional needs.
We want Hillingdon council to withdraw this proposal and ensure the schools continue to receive their funding.
