It’s coming up to some important days in the fox hunting calendar, the Boxing Day & New Years Day hunts, and frankly we’re sick of the whitewashing the media of Leicestershire gives to these organisations, choosing only to try & emphasise how the days are a ‘good day out for the family’ and not, for example, that Leicestershire’s fox hunts have pursued & slaughtered foxes in front of hunt saboteurs & police (often on camera despite The Hunting Act 2004), assaulted professional anti-hunt investigators and hunt saboteurs so seriously that people have received broken necks & ribs, have had their supporters & staff prosecuted for wildlife crime & assault, repeatedly exposed for encouraging foxes for hunting and regularly have their appalling arrogance & abusive behaviour splashed across social media. It is ultimately up to the media how they report the upcoming events but we feel that to ignore the huge amount of coverage given to the reality of fox hunts in Leicestershire, and the nature of those who participate, would be an immense disservice to the public.
