Stop the mass evictions in Bayview
The Issue
Please stop the City and County of San Francisco and Felton Institute from shutting down the Hope House housing program located at 2111 Jennings Street, displacing nearly 100 families, mostly Black, elderly, disabled people from their decades of residency in the Bayview District 10. This is cruel, criminal, and unjustified.
It is contrary to solving our city homeless housing crises. Furthermore, this hardship will cause the families of our community sickness, heart attacks, death, and homelessness all over again.
Based in years of displacement throughout the City of San Francisco’s redevelopment process, this is the very reason San Francisco has promised to pay reparations to African descent residents.
Why would they then repeat this action and continue putting these hardships upon our people, while now taking money away from the newly voted on Reparations Office budget?
We’re calling on the City of San Francisco, Supervisor Shamann Walton, and Mayor London Breed to address this matter with Felton Institute and the SF Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing!
Call and email:
Marvin Davis, CFO, Felton Institue: mdavis@feltoninstitute.org, 415-794-6345 or 415-474-7310 and 510-844-8244
District 10 Supervisor Shamann Walton, shamann.walton@sfgov.org, 415-554-7670
STOP THIS CRIMINAL HOUSING DISCRIMINATION!
