Stop the Major Development Proposal Threatening Curlew Habitat in Llanfairfechan

Stop the Major Development Proposal Threatening Curlew Habitat in Llanfairfechan

The Issue

As a resident of Llanfairfechan, I am deeply concerned about a major development proposal that threatens to disrupt the feeding grounds of Eurasian curlews and other wildlife species. The proposed site of Penmaen Park is within 130m of Lavan Sands, a Special Protection Area. Eurasian curlews were recently added to the Red List on the UK Conservation Status Report. This means they are among species with the highest conservation priority due to their rapidly declining numbers. The Eurasian curlew is predicted to be on the brink of extinction as a viable breeding species in Wales by 2033.

The development will not only affect curlews but also oystercatchers and other wildlife that rely on this habitat for survival. We cannot stand by while our local biodiversity is at risk.

Every species plays an integral role in our ecosystem and losing even one can have far-reaching consequences. By signing this petition, we can show our collective resistance against such harmful developments and work towards preserving these precious habitats for future generations.

Please join me in protecting our local wildlife from unnecessary disruption - sign this petition today!
