Dear Parkdale Community Members,

We hope you are doing well as summer winds down! The Parkdale Housing Justice Network is excited to invite you to a Community BBQ this Sunday, September 22nd, from 12 PM - 3 PM at Milky Way Garden, and we want you to be there!

Why This Matters:
We are facing a critical moment in Parkdale. As you all know KingSett Capital has proposed a luxury condo development at King and Cowan threatening to displace long-time residents and erode Parkdale's remaining affordable rental units. While we recently celebrated a major victory when Toronto City Council rejected their application, KingSett has now appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal to push the project forward. 

We need to continue our fight at the provincial level to ensure that Parkdale remains deeply affordable for everyone. We’re demanding at least 30% affordable and accessible housing in any new development, in line with the Parkdale Community Benefits Framework.
