On April 25th, 2024, City staff shared they will be recommending that City Council refuse the application with their finalized Recommendation report. The link for the report is here: https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2024.TE13.10 

In their report, City staff noted that "the proposed development is not consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement (2020) and does not conform with A Place to Grow: Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (2020). The proposed development also does not conform to the City's Official Plan" and "this report reviews and recommends refusal of the application to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law as the request has not demonstrated that a tall building can be accommodated on the site in a manner that is appropriate within the existing and planned context, nor has it demonstrated that certain provisions of the Toronto Green Standards could be achieved".

While this is great news, this does not mean the condo won't get built. The next step is on May 7th, Toronto Community Council will discuss the application and assess the refusal recommendation, following this Toronto City Council will have a final sign-off on whether or not the application is approved.
