First, THANK YOU to everyone who continues to share our petition and to everyone who has recently signed! 🙌🏾 Every signature matters. Every share matters. Every conversation matters. But we need to recognize something important: THIS FIGHT IS MUCH BIGGER THAN HAMPTON. IT IS BIGGER THAN CLAYTON COUNTY. IT IS BIGGER THAN HENRY COUNTY. There are lots and lots of petitions on Change.org from communities across Georgia that are fighting against proposed data centers, calling for moratoriums, demanding greater transparency, or asking their elected officials to protect their communities. COMMUNITIES ACROSS GEORGIA ARE FIGHTING BACK Among the Georgia petitions currently on Change.org are efforts involving: 👉🏾 Hampton / Henry County 👉🏾 Lovejoy / Clayton County 👉🏾 Douglas County 👉🏾 Carroll County 👉🏾Dekalb County / Ellenwood 👉🏾 Augusta-Richmond County 👉🏾 Harris County 👉🏾 Muscogee County 👉🏾Fayetteville / Fayette County 👉🏾 Tyrone / Fayette County 👉🏾 Rome / Floyd County 👉🏾Coosa / Floyd County 👉🏾Effingham County 👉🏾 Columbia County / Appling 👉🏾 Griffin And broader statewide efforts calling for action on data-center development throughout Georgia. These aren't isolated concerns. Communities across Georgia are raising many of the same questions about water, electricity, land use, environmental impacts, infrastructure, noise, transparency, property values and whether citizens are being given a meaningful LET'S SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBORS If you see a petition from another Georgia community fighting a data center, PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO SIGN IT. Don't just ask our neighbors to support us. Let's show them that we support them, too. When a community in Douglas County is fighting, let's stand with Douglas County. When a community in Floyd County is fighting, let's stand with Floyd County. When a community in DeKalb, Augusta, Columbia, Effingham, Fayette, Carroll, Muscogee, Harris, Griffin or anywhere else in Georgia is fighting, LET'S STAND WITH THEM. Their fight today could be our fight tomorrow. And our success in stopping one project can help give another community the courage and information they need to stand up for themselves. KEEP SPEAKING UP! We need people to: ✅ Sign the petitions ✅ Share the petitions ✅ Talk to your neighbors ✅ Attend local government meetings ✅ Contact your city council members and county commissioners ✅ Contact your state representatives and state senators ✅ Ask questions about proposed data centers before they are approved ✅ Demand transparency about permits, incentives, water use, power requirements and environmental impacts ✅ Stay informed and hold elected officials accountable And this needs to go all the way to the state level. CALL ON GEORGIA'S STATE LEADERS We are calling on Georgia's state officials — and everyone running for statewide office — to make data-center development a TOP priority. That includes the candidates for: Governor Lieutenant Governor Public Service Commission Attorney General Agriculture Commissioner and other statewide offices The 2026 election includes races for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Public Service Commission, among other statewide offices. (Georgia) ASK EVERY CANDIDATE: 👉🏾 What is your position on the rapid expansion of data centers in Georgia? 👉🏾 What will you do to protect Georgia's water resources? 👉🏾 What will you do to protect our electrical grid and prevent residents from carrying the burden of massive new power demand? 👉🏾 What protections will you support for communities located near these facilities? 👉🏾 Will you support stronger statewide standards, transparency and meaningful public participation? 👉🏾 What will you do to make sure Georgia communities have a real voice before these projects are approved? And don't stop at asking questions. Get their answers on the record. The Georgia Public Service Commission has an important role in matters involving Georgia's electric utilities and infrastructure, which is why the PSC races deserve particular attention from citizens concerned about the growth of data centers. (WABE) THIS IS OUR STATE TOO We cannot continue to fight these battles one city or one county at a time while the larger issue continues to grow. Georgia belongs to all of us. Our water belongs to our communities. Our land belongs to our communities. Our neighborhoods matter. Our families matter. And our voices matter. So let's build a statewide movement. KEEP SIGNING. KEEP SHARING. KEEP SPEAKING UP. KEEP CONTACTING YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS. KEEP ASKING THE HARD QUESTIONS. And most importantly... WHEN OUR NEIGHBORS FIGHT, LET'S STAND WITH THEM. One community may start the fight. But together, Georgia can make its voice heard. LET'S MAKE DATA-CENTER DEVELOPMENT A STATEWIDE ISSUE — AND A STATEWIDE PRIORITY. #Georgia #GeorgiaDataCenters #StopDataCenters #DataCenterDevelopment #ProtectGeorgia #GeorgiaCommunities #WaterMatters #ProtectOurWater #ProtectOurCommunities #CommunityVoices #GeorgiaPolitics #PublicServiceCommission #GeorgiaGovernor #GeorgiaLtGovernor #KeepSharing #StandTogether
