STOP THE LIVE EXPORT OF ANIMALS
The issue
We all agree that it's important to accept cultural differences, right? But should animals suffer simply because other countries have cultural and religious preferences for freshly KILLED meat? Yes, it's important to respect other cultures but as a Christian culture, Australia and other countries should not accept such cruelty. Why? Because technology enables Australia to produce high-quality meat and keep it as safe and fresh in highly reliable refrigerated containers as freshly killed meat!
Why are animals shipped off on mass in cramped conditions, with no room to stand, eat or drink? Many arrive dead! Did you know that this is not entirely due to cultural reasons, as we are led to believe?? It's mostly about commercial greed. Exporters receive more money if animals are alive only to be killed after a horrific 10-day journey to their final destination of death.
They'd be lucky if they get a few centimetres of personal space, while we luxuriate in beautiful cabins on boats.
Did you know that in 2020 alone, 173 million sheep got shipped to China to be killed for wool and meat?
Animals get shipped from farms onto trucks to be transported to docks where they get shoved onto massive ships to be transported ashore. Some animals even get put on the ships by cranes. How would you feel if someone tied you up onto a crane by one leg and then being tossed and turned as you get moved onto the ship where you meet many other people and you don’t have any personal space? This is what millions of animals face each day. Some ships can even carry up to 70,000 animals.
Just imagine, while you’re on a beautiful ship with a balcony in your cabin, while the ship behind you is carrying thousands of cows who never get to see the sunshine again.
Some people may say that “God put us on the earth to care for animals”, but how are we caring for them if we are shipping them off in the thousands to be on a cramped ship for 10 days on their way to be killed off for leather and meat. there have already been so many sheep and cows that die from either escaping and falling into the ocean or being suffocated from not having enough space to breathe.
We must take action today and take a stand against live animal exports.
WHAT MUST WE DO?
• Tell the governments to stop shipping animals in masses
• Stop rich money making people from making money from this cruelty
• Save millions of animals that will go to the slaughterhouse.
